This course covers the role of the designated fire marshal. It also gives students the opportunity to learn about the different types of fire extinguisher and how to use them safely.
Course Aims
The course will give the delegates the ability to identify fire hazards, take charge in the event of a fire and understand their roles as a fire marshal.
Course Content
• Discuss current fire legislation and the characteristics of a Fire Risk Assessment
• Give a greater understanding of the fire hazards that are built into your workplace
• Explanation of how a fire can spread and the main causes of fire
• Understand why fire prevention and detection measures are implemented and monitored
• Explain the roles and responsibilities of the Fire Marshal
• Identify all types of fire extinguishers and the fires for which they are suited
• Demonstrate the safe use of a fire extinguisher under controlled conditions
Note: Practical Assessment on the extinguishing of fires is carried out
